Olga was where we first landed when moving to Orcas over 20 years ago. We thought we'd gone to heaven! From our home on the water we could see Mount Baker and the Islands to the east. We moved to the Willis property, once a land grant and still a 100 acre farm. Mornings we would watch Lucille Willis in her late 80's in her garden, gathering greens or picking flowers.
If you are looking for Orcas of old - look at Olga! It will take you back in time. It is a tiny hamlet with the old strawberry packing plant turned into the Olga Artworks and the Olga Cafe. The is a town dock, where locals fish and catch dungenese crab, and the Olga store where you can get a fresh baked scone ( made by daughter Jeni) and a latte. The area known as Olga extends towards Doe Bay, and offers some farm land, you'll see horses and sheep along the road.
You can find anything from a tiny waterfront cabin to a mansion in Olga and sometimes side by side! The east side of the Park where Olga is located is the quiet side of Orcas. It has a charm all it's own!
