Ken grew up on the family cattle ranch in North Idaho, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins. He learned many lessons on the ranch; to work hard, be self-reliant and honest. He was held accountable from a young age; helping tend stock and working with the men in the hayfields. His family taught him "Anything worth doing is worth doing well." He brings those ethics to his real estate practice. He has always had a passion for learning. A love of philosophy and classic literature led him to St. John's College in Santa Fe. He is an avid reader still, though now his passion is for poetry. Ken enjoys nature in quiet ways; watching wildlife, sailing, working with his mustangs, and walking the beautiful trails near his Deer Harbor home. Ken brings to OrcasDreams 20+ years of building experience. This is quite an asset to clients considering building or those wanting to develop and sell land or homes. His experience in fine home building, both in Princeton, NJ and on Orcas Island, his eye for pics and his knowledge of the trades on Orcas are all valuable resources for his clients. He is a master carpenter; his attention to detail is rarely seen today. He is meticulous in his work whether it is building a home or marketing your property; Ken pays attention to details.

Years ago, Ken began helping Kate behind the scenes. His knowledge of computers, his eye for photography and his love of words were all put to use helping Kate build OrcasDreams Island Properties. Often, he met with clients who were considering a land purchase or sale, and he would help guide them in site development and pics. It seemed a logical step for him to become licensed and work with Kate. His excellent memory helps him understand and know the market. He is astute at recognizing real estate opportunities and he truly enjoys helping people.
